Meet Felicia Bibeau!
She/Her
REGISTERED PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
I am committed to providing a supportive, affirming, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences and achieve meaningful change.
Life often presents us with challenges that can feel overwhelming, but it’s in these moments that we have the opportunity to grow and discover our true strength. With the right support, I believe every individual can navigate through life’s difficulties and emerge with resilience and insight.
MY THERAPUTIC APPROACH
-
I draw from different therapy styles to ensure the therapy fits you and your unique needs.
-
Our work focuses on you — your experiences, strengths, and whole well-being (including sleep, movement, nutrition, rest, spirituality, and connection).
-
Helps you:
welcome tough thoughts and emotions instead of fighting them.
focus on what truly matters to you.
take meaningful action aligned with your values
-
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Its a bottom up approach to therapy that helps process trauma & distressing experiences.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapy that helps to understand your mind like a team, where different parts of you have feelings and jobs, and your core Self is the kind leader that helps them work together. It can also help you in life and with friends by growing confidence, calm, courage, kindness, creativity, curiosity, clarity, and feeling connected.
-
In my practice, I use a Two-Eyed Seeing approach that honours both Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and Western psychology. As an Indigenous therapist, I weave these perspectives together so clients can access what is most supportive without one worldview overshadowing the other. Guided by respect, reciprocity, relevance, and responsibility, I focus on building cultural safety, community values, and co-learning, creating a space where healing is holistic, grounded, and culturally meaningful.
MY IDENTITY
As a fellow human first. I know what it’s like to feel out of sync with the world because I’ve lived it.
I carry personal experience with:
ADHD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, and the layered impact of intergenerational trauma as a Treaty 6 Indigenous cisgender woman.
Mixed white & Indigenous ancestry:
I honour and hold deep pride in my Indigenous roots as a Treaty 6 Anishinaabe member of O’Chiese First Nation and a Status First Nation. Through marriage, I’m also connected to the Kainai First Nation (Blood Tribe) of Treaty 7, and I hold deep respect for their land, teachings, and community. I also carry ancestry from French, German, and British roots.
Fun tid bits about me:
Outside of my practice, you'll often find me exploring my love for fantasy, magic, and all things witchy and whimsical. I love diving into a captivating TV show or anime, gaming, unwinding with a good fantasy book or playing with my two cats (Calcifer and Kilala). I also find connecting with my family and friends brings joy and balance to my life. When I'm out and about in Calgary, I really enjoy thrifting for unique finds, supporting our vibrant local markets, and checking out community events.
NOTE: I share my background and lived experience because I believe authentic connection is the foundation of effective therapy. I approach this work with cultural humility, acknowledging that I will never be the expert in your experience. I keep my positionality and privilege in active awareness as part of an ongoing reflective practice that calls me to show up with intention, care, and ethical responsibility.
MY CAREER JOURNEY
My path to becoming a therapist started from a deeply personal place.
Growing up, I often felt out of sync with my peers, drawn to introspection and interests deemed alternative. In my small town, I naturally connected with those who also didn't quite fit in, often becoming the person my friends turned to for support. At home, my life was often chaotic and messy.
Despite being part of a large family, I frequently felt alone and lived with many restrictions. These early experiences cultivated a deep empathy and understanding for those facing challenges, ultimately steering me toward the human services field where I could offer support, connection, and healing to others navigating their own struggles.
During my early studies, I had the honour of beginning my own therapy journey, a path I continue to walk today. It was there that my wounded parts truly felt seen, allowing me to explore my identity more deeply than ever before.
Through therapy, I gained invaluable coping strategies, profound self-insight, and the crucial understanding that I didn't have to face my challenges alone.
The combination of my life experience, therapeutic journey, education, and career adventures, have consistently affirmed my passion for supporting others, and I feel truly honoured to be a therapist where I can give back meaningfully.
I bring 8 years of dedicated experience to the mental health and helping profession. My work has spanned diverse settings, including a private practice centre specializing in grief, trauma, and holistic well-being. I've also gained valuable experience on crisis lines, training/mentoring crisis line volunteers, mentoring at-risk youth, and providing admin support in EAP and mental health clinic settings.
